Our Annual Gala is Quickly Approaching!
Many things have changed this year, but we are excited to announce that we are still planning to hold our annual gala this year as a virtual event! Our gala will be held on Oct. 31 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. online. We’ll have our keynote speaker, Rosemary Ketchum, our annual silent auction, and other activities. It’s sure to be a night to remember.
Go ahead and buy your ticket and secure your spot today. We’ll send you an email as we get closer to the event with information on how to join us on the night of the event. Buying a ticket to our virtual gala is more than just sending us a donation. It’s a downpayment on a better future, a future where all hardworking LGBTQ West Virginians can earn an honest living and live an honest life. It’s your promise to fund crucial work that helps transgender West Virginians access the competent and compassionate health care they need. It’s your commitment to a fairer future for all people.
What: A Fairer Future Gala
When: Oct. 31, 2020
This year, we’re excited to announce that Rosemary Ketchum, the first openly transgender person in West Virginia who was elected to public office, will deliver the keynote address. Rosemary Ketchum won her election to Wheeling’s city council in June, and since then, she’s captured the attention of national media outlets and showed the world that West Virginia is moving in the right direction.
Since our gala falls on Halloween this year, we want to celebrate in style. We’re asking our supporters to send in a picture with the most creative face mask. A panel of judges will choose a winner to receive a special prize. Email a picture of your most creative face mask to email@example.com to enter the contest. The deadline to enter the contest is Oct. 28, so be sure to send your submission in early. We’ll announce the winner live during the event!
We’ve already got an impressive line-up of sponsors who are coming together to help fund our fight for a fairer future, and we’re still looking for more sponsors. We are grateful that these sponsors, in the middle of such trying times, have decided to stand with Fairness West Virginia.
