Community, statewide leaders call for passage of Fairness Act
Leaders from Huntington and across the state joined forces in a Tuesday morning press conference to denounce the recent remarks by Delegate John Mandt and to call for passage of the Fairness Act. The Fairness Act is a bipartisan proposal to ensure that all West Virginians are treated equally. It will add LGBTQ people to the state’s civil rights laws, which would mean that no one could be fired from their job, evicted from their apartments or denied service at a public place because of who they are or who they love.
