Tell lawmakers to VOTE NO
on House Bill 4011!
UPDATE: House Bill 4001 passed out of the House Education Committee Thursday evening. It now heads to the House Judiciary Committee. Click here for the most current update on this bill.
Once again, our politicians are trying to turn the classroom into a political battlefield. Members of the House Education Committee are likely to take up a bill tomorrow afternoon that is designed to intimidate teachers from having important conversations about racism and sexism. This bill is extremely broad, and will have a chilling effect on free speech.
This bill also makes it harder for school districts to offer inclusivity trainings to their staff. When we surveyed teachers in the fall of 2020, 70% of teachers said they’ve never received any kind of training on how to support their LGBTQ students. Our lawmakers should be making it easier for teachers to understand and support their diverse students, not harder.
We need you to tell members of the committee to VOTE NO on HB 4011. We’ve made it easy! Use the tool below to email every member of the committee in less than 1 minute.
