Join us for the Fairness For All Lobby Day!

Our Legislature is only in session for 60 days, which means every single day is crucial to defending our community from legislative attacks. We don’t know what those attacks will be just yet — we won’t know until the session starts rolling. But we do know that local politicians have begun targeting educators for making their classrooms inclusive and targeting drag queens.

No matter what attacks they throw our way, Fairness West Virginia will be there to defend our community. And with your help, we’ll be even stronger. Can you join us for the second annual Fairness For All Lobby Day on Friday?

— 8:30 a.m. – Set Up. We’re encouraging groups planning to table at this event to arrive and have their tables set up by 8:30 a.m. It can take a while to get through security, especially on busy lobby days.

—ALL DAY – Meet With Your Lawmakers. Our team is working to organize meetings with lawmakers throughout the day. Please let me know if you’re interested in meeting with your lawmaker. We will try to make it happen but we cannot promise any meetings. Our team can provide fact sheets and other materials that you can use in these meetings. Send an email to

—9 a.m. – Lobby Day Orientation / Rapid Training in the Lower Rotunda. Our staff will host a brief orientation to lobby day in the lower rotunda. Participants aren’t required to attend this — it’s designed for people who’ve never participated in a lobby day before.

—10:15 a.m. – Rally in the Lower Rotunda. Fairness staff and community members will hold a rally in the lower rotunda.

—11 a.m. – Floor Sessions. The House of Delegates and Senate typically begin their floor session at 11 a.m. Legislators in both chambers will announce that it’s the Fairness For All Lobby Day. We want to pack the galleries with as many people as possible so our lawmakers see just how many people support equality.

The event officially ends at noon although some folks might stick around to continue meeting with lawmakers. Lobby day participants are invited to come to our office in Charleston after the event to debrief and decompress. Our office will re-open at 12:30 p.m. Our office is located at 405 Capitol Street, on the fourth floor.
