Our Annual Gala is Quickly Approaching!

Fairness WV presents an annual fundraiser gala each year in the fall to recognize and celebrate the progress toward full equality in the Mountain State. This year, w’re excited to celebrate the Roaring 2020’s with you!

As we look at the wave of anti-LGBTQ legislation sweeping across the country, it’s easy to think our community finds itself in unprecedented waters. But the truth is we’ve seen this all before. Look through the history books, and right there amid the flapper dresses and zoot suits, you’ll find a flourishing LGBTQ community. Yes, the LGBTQ community that came before us faced many of the same challenges we face today — from drag bans to moral panic. This time around, our community is stronger than ever. We’re educated, connected, organized and ready to fight back against this hate.

So we’re excited to invite you to celebrate the Roaring Twenties with us! Dress up in a zoot suit or your best flapper dress as we celebrate the time LGBTQ nightlife and culture first began to flourish in America. Join us on Sept. 9, 2023 at Embassy Suites in Charleston as we dance the night away. This black tie-optional party will help us celebrate our efforts to make the Mountain State a better place for LGBTQ people to live, work and raise a family. We’ll have food, music, dancing, and a silent auction.
